An early 18th century flintock holster pistol signed by John Harman, on the lock and Harman, London on the breech of the three staged swamped barrel, engraved brass spured pommel with grotesque mask, the trigger guard with early form of acorn finial and engraved rose, multi-spiral turned ramrod pipes with original brass tipped ramrod, pierced foliate side plate, London proof marks, maker"s mark, and engraved owner"s crest, full walnut stock with carved tear-drops at breech (circa 1725) 16in. long Note: John Harman was free of the Gunmakers Company on 15th April 1714. Appointed gunsmith to HRH Frederick Prince of Wales in 1729. £500-700 See Illustration.
