An Uncertified Collection of Error Lincoln Cents
An Uncertified Collection of Error Lincoln Cents formed in the 1960s and housed in a large custom-made Capital-style plastic holder entitled "Freak Lincoln Cents." Dates range from 1943-S to 1966, and many of the error Cents are in Mint State. The grades range from AU50 Cleaned to MS65 Red. A couple of the Cents exhibit corrosion. The collection includes blank planchets, off weight Cents, numerous Cents ranging from 5% to 95% off center, and several Cents with curved clips. An MS63 1944-S Cent has a 5% straight clip at 12 o'clock. A cleaned XF 1949-S Cent was struck with a partial collar. An Uncirculated 195? Cent is very softly struck. An Uncirculated (but cleaned) 1951-D (?) Cent was a struck through a late stage obverse die cap. One of the Cents appears to have been a struck-through fragment, this piece was formerly glued to the holder but is now in a flip. The person who assembled this collection of error Lincoln Cents did so in an era when these pieces were disparagingly referred to as "Freaks," but he or she clearly took great pride in the accomplishment. 56 Coins

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
