This pair of brown line prints, measuring approximately 36" x 71", offers a detailed overview of the site plan for Tokyo Disneyland, providing a fascinating glimpse into the early stages of its development. Originating from the private collection of Disney Legends Marc and Alice Davis, who, after retiring in 1978, continued to lend their expertise as consultants on projects such as EPCOT and Tokyo Disneyland. These prints utilize the brown line photographic process, known for its ability to produce precise architectural drawings with light-sensitive iron salts. Tokyo Disneyland, which opened in April 1983 as the first Disney park outside the U.S., presents unique features, including its distinct railway system. The Western River Railroad, circumventing Japanese laws on train stops, offers a singular route through Adventureland, showcasing the meticulous planning that went into every aspect of the park. Despite showing signs of age-related toning, edge wear, and some surface wear, these prints remain in Good condition, echoing Walt Disney's praise of Marc Davis as his "Renaissance man," capable of bringing visionary projects to life.
