German, late 19th century, impressed marks
The Duke of Devonshire dinner service ordered from the Carlsbad factory. Comprised of 36 Dinner Plates, 12 Cream Soup Bowls, 3 Graduated Platters, 1 Large Well & Tree Platter and 1 Covered Soup Tureen. Total of 53 pieces all decorated with gilded scalopped edges and hand painted floral sprays on a white ground.
Provenance: The Duke of Devonshire, property formerley in his Irish residence, Desmond Castle. Gifted by the Duke to Lucy Curling and by descent to her son Richbell Curling. The estate of Richbell Curling and by descent to his sister residing in Canada.
