An Egyptian wood lid for a canopic jar, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, representing falcon-headed Qebehsenuef, the god of protection and of the west and who protected the liver of the mummy. The pigment is nicely preserved with old collection numbers on the base. 3 ½ in x 4 ¼ in (8.9 x 10.7 cm). Ex Ligabue Collection, Venice.
