An Egyptian ceramic fecundity figure, Ptolemaic, 3rd - 2nd Century BC, in the form of a naked female, one hand around one of her ankles to expose her genitals, while her other hand is on her genitals. She wears a large wreathed headdress and her hair is stylized in long tresses which fall about her shoulder. H: 2 1/3 in (6cm). Intact, traces of white dressing, nice overall style. Ex collection gifted to a housekeeper of Betty Baronowitz in the early 1990's. Betty was the sister of Norbert Schimmel, noted collector and specialist in antiquities who died at 85 in 1990, and much of his collection was gifted to his sister.
