An Arts and Crafts oak cradle attributed to Sir Robert Lorimer, the rectangular body with spindle gallery and thistle finials to the end and a cowalled canopy to the other, with acorn finials to the angles and with panels carved in bas relief with sprigs of fruiting oak leaves, the sides bearing circular panels of woodland animals within meandering bramble frieze on rocker base with scrollwork carving 91cm long, 80cm high, 43cm wide
£1,500-2,000 343  A contemporary white painted secretaire desk after original designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the rectangular top above a panelled fall, opening to reveal an interior fitted with pigeon holes and stationary racks, flanked by moulded uprights above an arched apron on moulded supports linked by a stretcher, the reverse fitted with two panelled doors enclosing an interior fitted with pigeon holes and flanked by pierced mouldings, the sides with inset apertures, the whole raised on a plinth 128cm wide, 133cm high, 61cm deep Note: This is one of two desks commissioned by the Glasgow School of Art. The original design by Mackintosh in 1904 was never executed, although Patrick S. Dunn, the Chairman of the Art Finance Committee of the Glasgow School of Art had marked the original drawing with his approval. There was however the proviso that the cost of the desk should not exceed
