An Articifers Guild plated metal Sanctuary lamp, the design attributed to Edward Spencer, of double ogee shape with a broad pierced collar of interwoven vines, berries and foliage, the plain middle section applied with four relief roundels of further vines, and a wreathed ring at the base, having a central candle sconce, suspended from a dished ceiling rose by heavy chains, 38cm diameter, inscribed 'In his temple, everything sayeth Glory'
An original coloured gouache drawing of this piece exists in the archives of the 'Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, where it is shown to have had red glass included. It also states below the drawing 'Southwark Diocesan Advisory Committee. Oct 9 1930. F.C. Eales 4.11.30 RLBH" It is assumed that the drawing was submitted for approval and may therefore have links to Southwark Cathedral
