Covers removed, no authorship noted, dated "1/2/76," marked "Rev.," 338 pages, a number of pages folded in half by Wayne as was his habit with scripts he used on set, with numerous colored script change pages throughout, with numerous annotations by Wayne in black or green felt-tip ink throughout, mainly revisions or clarifications to his dialogue such as: verso of page 8 "celebrate to[o] many b.d.'s / In my profession / you trust too much / don't [have] too many birthdays / I like it around / here;" verso of page 10 "Doc - / you're dying;" verso of page 31 "Handling a gun / don't make you a / man...;" verso of page 40 "under new man / not a shred of regard / for human dignity or / anything else for the sake of / story;" verso of page 80 "Gillom I never really thought / you were. Emotion does strange / things to a man. It sure / messed me up...;" and other like notes; script housed within a brown leather binder embossed on the front cover "Duke" and on inside cover "Cahill U.S. Marshall / McQ / Brannigan / Rooster Cogburn."
