An Annotated Working Script from "Hellfighters." Universal, 1968. Red covers, screen play by John Lee Mahin, handwritten annotations in black felt tip ink by Wayne on right side of cover reads "Cheese cake / Camios / Sand pebble / 8 1/2 med," noting working title of "The Hellfighters," dated "February 27, 1968," marked "Final Screenplay," with numerous colored script change pages throughout, most pages folded in half by Wayne as was his habit with scripts he used on set, with numerous annotations by Wayne in various colors of ink throughout, mainly revisions to the dialogue or 'notes to self' such as: page 70 "Why do you get all / upset? / I asked you / a simple question;" page 124 "I suppose we blunder / for the sake of photography / Are you sending a man / along with the / picture to explain? / give it to me 1st;" page 128 "Doesn't /make sense;" verso of page 129 "Somebody / wake me up;" and many other like notes.
