An Annotated Script from Circus World. ... (Total: 1 )
An Annotated Script from "Circus World." Paramount, 1964. No covers, screen play by Frank Capra, dated "March 29, 1963," noting working title of "Circus," further noting "Frank Capra Version," 212 pages, with numerous pages dog-eared and annotated by Wayne throughout in blue ballpoint ink while he was reading it, mainly outlining his complaints about the lead character such as: verso of page 85 "Jesus Christ!"; verso of page 93 "Gab-Gab / Gab! and / an idiot's plot point!"; verso of page 107 "Here is what / is really wrong / with this script / Capra has / Duke mixed / up with Gene / Autry or / Johnny Mack Brown;" verso of page 125 "this is typically / Jimmy Stewart" and many other similar critiques. Wayne hated Capra's version so intensely that he ended up hiring his long-time collaborator, James Edward Grant, to re-write it. (Please note a few pages are loose from the brads and most pages are somewhat wrinkled.)11 1/2" x 8 1/2 "x 1 1/2"
