(Hanna-Barbera, 1967) An original model sheet drawing by renowned artist Alex Toth of the Colossus of Rhodes from the Hanna-Barbera animated series "Samson & Goliath." Toth was instrumental in the design of many of Hanna-Barbera's most famous characters in the 1960s and 1970s, including "The Herculoids," "Birdman," and "Space Ghost." This drawing was used during the creation of the third episode of season one, titled "The Great Colossus," which aired on September 23, 1967. Original model drawings are photocopied at the studio and distributed to ensure character consistency among animators. The originals are much rarer than their photocopied counterparts. Always extremely detailed and dynamic, Toth's drawings are very desirable among collectors. Measuring 10.5" x 12.5", the model sheet is in very good condition with creases, edge wear, and a torn top right peg hole.
