Location:6270 Este Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45232, United States
1p, 7.5" x 9.75", Junction City, KS, 22 Nov. 1866. On letterhead for Nye Forwarding Co. advertising Overland Freight to all the Territories, from Termini of Railroads, across the Plains. To J.M. Bloomfield & Co. This will introduce to you Mr. George Watson, Esq. Mr. W. has been in our employ several years. He is going East to attend to some matters for us. Could not get a pass here for him further than your city. Please to obtain one for him from your place to New York City.

According to the New York Times announcement of the Nye's 50th anniversary (2 June 1912), the couple married in 1862 and headed West the following year. Besides the forwarding company, Loyal Nye seems to have also operated a stage line and gotten involved in mining (who didn't?). The couple were pioneers in places such as Denver and Deadwood, moving ever westward to where the railroads had not yet reached. By the 1890s, probably as the railroads took over, the Nyes retired and moved back to New York.
