English aviatrix who drowned tragically in 1941 after bailing out over the Thames. ALS signed “Amy,” one page, 7 x 9, August 17, [1938]. Letter to Lona Sawyer. In part: “I still don’t know my plans. Imperial Airways turned us down, but I have a job with Sunday Graphic…I don’t know where I’ll live when I leave here…I’ll let you know anyway. It’s useless to take a cottage in the circumstances.” In fine condition, with central horizontal and vertical mailing fold. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
