1) U.S. Model 1906 Cavalry Saber with browned steel, three branched guard and pommel, 35-inch bright blade and browned steel scabbard. The saber has a leather grip cover with twisted wire wrap The obverse ricasso is stamped: "A.S. Co. Ordnance Shell & Flame Insignia/ 1906" The opposite ricasso is stamped "U.S. /J.C.". 2) Ames U.S. 1860 Saber with brass, three branch guard and pommel, leather grip cover with twisted brass wire wrap and iron scabbard. The bright blade is stamped: "U. S./G.W.C./1865" on the obverse ricasso and has the Ames name and address on the reverse. The reverse ricasso is over-stamped with post- Civil War, state militia markings "52/C/ALA". "ADK" sub-inspector's markings are stamped on the top of the pommel.

1) Very good, with scattered light spotting and minor handling marks on the blade. The hilt has traces of the original brown finish, the balance is a dark patina. The leather grip cover is flaking, the wire wrap is tight. The scabbard is in fair condition with dark patina and sacttered surface rust. 2) Good, with a dark spotting on the blade, aged brass hilt with a few bright spots, a few small scuffs on the leather and a dark patina with pitting on the scabbard.
