Americana Document Collection consisting of more than 50 documents, receipts, and letters with a wide range of dates (1600s to 1900s) and subjects (taxes, tobacco, oil, coffee, etc). A few of these interesting items are listed below:

Benjamin J. Russell. A wonderful series of twelve handwritten family letters dated from 1814 to 1827. The content is great -- he talks not only about personal affairs but also about national happenings. Fascinating reading.

1825 Tavern Bill for Mrs. Bacon at Bush's Coffee-House, Pittsfield, Massachusetts totaling $3.24.

1771 Dated Servant Indenture. A manuscript document with multiple signatures, in part: ".. of the Town of Stoughton in the County of Suffolk in New England...place and bind out Rachel Rogers a poor child belonging to the Town and County aforesaid... after the Manner of an Apprentice to Dwell and Serve from the Day...until the 25 Day of March A.D. 1776..."

There is a particularly large group of documents in this lot that would display very well. Also, there is much material of interest to the genealogist. Consider these to be "snapshots" of life in a different day and time. Generally very good to fine condition. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

Important notice:<
