American heavy barrel percussion rifle with mule-ear style hammer half stocked, brass mounts, circa about 1840-1850's in approx 36 caliber with semi false muzzle. The barrel measures nearly 1-1/2" across the flats atwidest portion and gun measures 46-1/2" with 30-1/2" barrel. Weight nearly 20lbs. The front sight is missing, the barrel shows a well made iron rear sight and a folding tang peep sight. The set triggers are workingwell, the stock is a light colored straight grain maple and has been lightly refinished. The action is good, bore is good. Est.; $1,400- $2,800.
