American half-stock percussion plains rifle, .42 caliber, 42-3/4” barrel, 58-3/4” overall. The barrel is of medium weight measuring approx. 7/8” across the flats. The rifle shows brass mounts, double set triggers,pewter forend cap, plain wood with reddish stain which is common on these trade style guns. The stock has been refinished and restored. The sight shows replacement approx. 1” back from the original dovetail which was filled. The rifle is in good condition with some small losses to the wood, minor imperfections. There is some light to moderate pitting on the lock and barrel, action working well. Est: $200 - $400
