American flintlock “Kentucky” style pistol signed Marekley in script on barrel. Approx. .41 caliber rifled, 8-3/4” medium to heavy octagon barrel, 14-7/8” overall. Stocked in plain walnut with brass mounts and furniture and small silver inlays with brass nail decoration showing initials “JR” at butt. The metal surfaces show a dark brown patina finish, the lock is in its original configuration and shows a replaced top-jaw and screw. The stock shows a well done wood restoration behind the lock and a small old replacement of wood, approx. 1/2” by 1/8” at forestock and one other small old period wood repair by rear lock screw, otherwise stock is good and shows most of its original surface and finish, and was not completely redone when the restoration was made. The stock shows 12 small silvery inlays in diamond and triangle shapes and many small brass nails. The front lockplate screw is missing, otherwise good overall.
