American double-barrel percussion rifle marked “L. Coon” and “D. Coon” “Cast Steel” “13” on barrels. Locks marked H. T. Cooper, New York”. Half stocked with nicely engraved German silver patchbox and large American eagle in engraved German silver inlayed into left cheekpiece. The right barrel is approx. .36 caliber rifled, the left barrel is approx .60 caliber smooth or almost 20ga, however both barrels are sighted. The rifle measure approx. 50-1/2” overall with 34”barrels. The barrels measure nearly 2” across widest portion of the breech and are half-round to octagon of medium weight. The metal surfaces are in good to very good condition showing a pleasing brown patina, some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. The stocks are good with some small losses and light cleaning.
