American Standard Tool Co. Spur Trigger Revolver
This is an excellent 19th Century Antique spur trigger sterling silver plated brass frame factory engraved presentation revolver from American Standard Tool Company chambered in .22 caliber. The piece has an upward swing out breech loading barrel known as a tip up spur trigger revolver. The revolver has a brass frame which has been sterling silver presentation finished having a 3 1/8 inch octagonal barrel with nickel plating and factory engraved nickel finished seven shot cylinder and finished with dark red rosewood solid grip scales. This is believed to be a high deluxe special order factory version of this firearm, a scarcely seen high grade example showing well preserved condition with near mint barrel and cylinder with most of the silver plating still shown and case hardened checkered hammer. The hammer pulls back and will hold only of the small spur trigger is held forward, this will then allow the trigger to release the rimfire hammer to fall. Pulling the hammer back also rotates the cylinder which locks correctly. The hammer will not hold back unless the small case hardened spur trigger is held forward. The top of the ribbed octagonal barrel is marked in a single line, “AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL Co NEWARK, N.J.”. The piece has a serial number of 8883 which can be found on the swing out barrel. The cylinder shows a roll factory engraved scene with a Frontiersman Cowboy firing a revolver at an American Indian Warrior holding a Tomahawk up with a floral at the top. This firearm qualifies as an ANTIQUE, and does NOT require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
