Five Contemporarily Bound Volumes of <I>The American Quarterly Review:</B></I></B></I> (Philadelphia: Carey & Lea, 1827-1832 ). <I>ncluded are: Vol. II: September & December, 1827; Vol. IV: September & December, 1828; Vol VII: March & June, 1830; Vol IX: March & June, 1831; Vol. XII: September & December, 1832. Five octavo volumes (8.5” x 5”). Contemporary sheepskin, with spine morocco lettering labels stamped in gilt. Bindings worn and soiled, but with a very attractive antiquarian feel. Text browned and foxed, with portion of one title page torn away. Each with a printed bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper: “Property of the Newark Mechanics' Association.” Each volume is separately slipcased in brown cloth with leather tips and finger holes.
