For your consideration is this original American "Old Sleepy Eye," embossed butter crock circa 1890-1920. This piece is attributed to the Weir Pottery Company of Monmouth, Illinois, who was the first company to produce "Old Sleepy Eye" porcelain dishes. The butter crock features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic construction that features blue embossed decoration of a Native American shoulder profiled cameo along with some trees and a teepee's embossed to the side of the pitcher showing blue coloring. The bottom is stamped with a "T". The condition of this butter crock is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The butter crock measures a diameter of 6 5/8" and a height of 5" and weighs 3 pounds and 8 ounces.
