American Indian Baskets and  Amazonian Mask,
lot of 4, includes two Seminole lidded baskets, each woven of coiled grasses held together with colored thread, with a palm fiber base and top on which sits a female head with embroidered yarn facial features and beaded neck ornaments. One head has a black cloth bonnet, the other long, black yarn braids, oval and 8" long, round and 9" diam., PLUS a Houma (Louisiana) basket, woven of folded palmetto palm leaves that form zig-zag rows which are stitched together with light blue, synthetic thread, round, 11" diam., AND an Amazonian (Peru?) carved, wooden mask, painted with natural pigments in earth tones and stitched to a piece of tapa (bark fiber). Tapa is hand stitched to form a sleeve which is closed at one end and decorated with painted, stylized fish, tapa 18.5" high and 12" wide; mask 10.5" high. All objects are very good.
