<p>Cowan’s is pleased to announce the public auction of a major collection of American Indian Art recently deaccessioned from the Western Reserve Historical Society of Cleveland, Ohio. Consisting of a wide range of basketry, beadwork, weaponry and textiles from all Native American Culture Areas, most of the items were not officially accessioned into the Western Reserve's collection until 1942. Approximately 400 lots will be offered in this sale, highlighted by a fine group of 19th century Navajo textiles, a group of fine Puebloan polychrome storage jars, Apache ollas, a select group of Plain beadwork and parfleches, and numerous California baskets.
