This is a rare side by side double barrel pistol grip stagecoach 12 gauge break over shotgun marked, “American Gun Co. New York.” The piece features a set of exposed pin fire hammers with a break over barrel with shell ejectors. The American Gun Co. was a previous manufacture and trademark of the Crescent Firearms Co. & Crescent-Davis Arms Co. circa 1888-1931 in Norwich, CT USA. This shotgun was produced pre-1898 with a serial number of 148147. The barrel has a fully etched rib between the barrels and top is marked, “Genuine Armory Steel Choke Bored”. The shotgun has a wood hand checker fore grip with a carved wood pistol grip having a hard rubber butte piece and inlaid copper Lincoln Penny (added later). The shotgun would have been used on a bank Stagecoach as it was armed. Has leather sling. Has 19" barrels. NO FFL
