American Flintlock Fowling piece circa early 19th century, 49-1/2” overall, 33-3/4” barrel of approx 56 cal smooth bore or nearly 28 gauge. The arm shows a simply checkered wrist with brass mounts that are lightlyengraved in American style with a large acorn finial on trigger guard. The front sight shows a tear drop inlay surrounding it in silver. The barrel shows a light re-brown and sleeving to the touch hole. The lock isoriginal Flint not reconverted and the barrel is probably a replacement. The stocks are good with some minor dings, mars, scratches and small losses along with some minor cracks and light refinishing. From on old N.Y.collector’s estate. Est.;$500-$1,000.
