Antique American coin silver large punch ladle of the Federal period. American antique silver ladle of very large size for punch bowl or soup tureen, Penn. early 19C. Coin silver punch ladle is 16" long with big coin silver bowl 4-1/2" wide. Beautiful engraving MD on the silver handle (is there a doctor in your house?). This very large and impressive Federal silver ladle has rounded form of rattail joint on back. Mark of John Matthew Miksch who worked in Bethlehem, Penn. He was a very prominent member of the Penn. Moravian community, his wife from the Salem, NC Moravian community. He was also a watchmaker. Please ignore photo reflections, there are no repairs of any kind. Mark in Wyler, pg. 303.
