The capitol stock was increased at the end of the Civil War from 6,000 shares to 10,000 as evidenced by the stamp. No. 1499, issued for 3 shares to Charles Amstead of Rutland, Vermont in January 1865. Signed by Henry Wells as president, William G. Fargo as secretary, and Alex Holland as treasurer.
