Collection of more than 30 autographs of American clergymen and theologians, most from the 19th century, predominately comprising letters but including a few quotes and clipped signatures. Signers include: Lyman Abbott, Hosea Ballou, Henry Ward Beecher, Eunice White Beecher, C. W. S. Body, William Henry Augustus Bissell, Leigh Richmond Brewer, John Henry Hobart Brown, George Bush, Samuel Burchard, Moncure Conway, Joseph Cook, Howard Crosby, Henry Martyn Field, Percy Stickney Grant, Eugene Augustus Hoffman, James Huntington, Jackson Kemper, John Henry Livingston, John Mitchinson, D. Parker Morgan, Theodore T. Munger, Henry C. Potter, Henry R. Sargent, Philip Schaff, Joseph Seiss, W. G. T. Shedd, Josiah Strong, David Swing, Thomas De Witt Talmage, Dudley Tyng, C. C. Tiffany, Stephen H. Tyng, Thomas Whittemore, and William C. Winslow. In overall very good to fine condition, with most having rusty circular paperclip impressions to the top.

These autographs are part of a large American collection mostly assembled in the early-to-mid 20th century. Due to the large quantity, there is a small possibility of secretarial and/or misidentified signatures within the binder. Interested parties are encouraged to view the collection in person at our offices or call us with specific inquiries, as this collection is sold as is and no returns will be accepted.
