<B><I>American Beauties</B></I></B></I> <B>1893 Sample Cigar Label by Schmidt & Co of New York.</B></I> A beautifully lithographed 8.5" x 6" inner label with embossed gold borders and filigrees. The patriotic theme pictures not only a draped flag and an eagle with a group of cigars hanging from his mouth tied by a ribbon but two types of American Beauties- roses and two fashionable young ladies. "Copyright 1893, By Schmidt & Co. N.Y." and "Schmidt & Co 9 8 11 New Chambers St New York" are both printed in the image with "No. 906 INSIDE" and "No. 907 OUTSIDE" printed in the lower margin signifying the stock or order numbers for this particular style.
