1934- C4Lot of 2, 8 x 10 black and white framed photos. 1) Departure of World’s First Scheduled Sleeper Plane from Chicago—July 8, 1934. A group of unidentified men and women are standing on the tarmac at night beside the plane. 2) C.R. Smith and 3 other aviation dignitaries stand in front of one of American Airways’ U.S. Mail planes. In 1934 American Airways changed its name to American Airlines, so this picture pre-dates that change. Both photos are framed, under glass. Ready to hang. From the American Industrialist Collection.
