Fountain pen signature, “Amelia M. Earhart,” and also signed by her mechanic Lou Gordon and pilot W. L. Stultz, on the second integral page of an off-white 5 x 6.5 sheet of Pennsylvania Railroad stationery. Written on the first page, in an unknown hand, “The autograph of the first lady to fly across the ocean and her two companions written aboard her special train to Williamsburg, Pa., July 18, 1928.” In fine condition, with some scattered light toning and soiling. In July 1928, Earhart accompanied hometown hero Wilmer to Williamsburg where a gigantic welcome celebration was held, including Wilmer, Amelia, and Lou Gordon riding through Williamsburg in an open convertible and accompanied by state police escorts. Even though Earhart garnered the most glamorous publicity, it was actually Stultz who was the pilot of record. A unique trio of signatures from the dawn of Earhart’s fame.
