Air mail postcard, 5.5 x 3.5, bearing a stamped cachet honoring Stultz Day in Middletown, Pennsylvania on July 28, 1928, signed in black ink, “Amelia Earhart,” and also signed by George L. Hepford. Reverse of the postcard bears a printed map of United States air mail routes. In fine condition, with light overall soiling.

In June 1928, Earhart accompanied pilot Wilmer Stultz and mechanic Louis Gordon on a flight from Newfoundland to the British Isles, making history as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger. It was following that record-setting transatlantic flight that the aviatrix joined the residents of Middletown in honoring the pilot as part of a celebratory tour. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
