<B>Group of Six Amelia Earhart Photographs With Putnam Telegram,</B></I> 1920s and 1930s, as follows: Two copies of an outdoors group photograph with Earhart in center, 10” x 8”; Interior group photo, 13.5” x 10.5”, with Earhart in center. (Air showman Cliff Henderson is seated at the end of the sofa to Earhart's right); Earhart greeting actress Mary Pickford, 8” x 10”; Earhart greeting flier Jimmy Haizlip, 9” x 7”; Earhart with Al Menasco and Paul Mantz. Condition varies with marginal loss to two photographs. Overall good condition.<BR>Included is a Western Union telegram, 8” x 6.5”, dated August 14, 1937 from Earhart's husband, George Putnam, to Cliff Henderson. Putnam writes: “<I>Dear Cliff Just returned coast find your letter July 29 heartfelt thanks for generous expression stop gladly guided by your judgment you may designate the race in what ever way seems to you appropriate best regards.</B></I>” Sent shortly after Earhart's disappearance over the Pacific, this telegram suggests that Henderson was planning a memorial race in her name.
