This superior quality and nice content authentic 4th Plate Ambrotype is highly unusual and desirable. Measuring 2.75” x 3.5” the Ambrotype is in perfect clean condition, the image is crisp with excellent contrast, while the case measures 3.75” x 4.75”. The case is actually made of two different worn decorative halves, dark brown and black and are not attached. Within the case liner backing is a piece of paper from the maker that is toned to near black from the adhesive used for the image. The Ambrotype Photograph itself is on glass, and is then attached to a slightly convex second piece of glass, which is located just in front of the decorative Brass mat. The Boy in this image is standing upon a chair. He is missing his left arm, right up to the shoulder, as his shirt sleeve is empty and attached to his side. The figure of the Little Boy was Painted from behind, and the combination of all these features makes the image highly attractive with excellent eye appeal.
