<B>[Texas Revolution] Printed Document Signed </B></I><B><I>"Almonte"</B></I></B></I><B> in print.</B></I> 1 page, 6" x 8.25", Mexico, February 10, 1840 in Spanish bearing the text of a decree approved by President Bustamante on February 10, 1840 and promulgated the same day by Juan Nepomuceno Almonte (1803-1869) to award military decorations to those soldiers who distinguished themselves defending against the French during the Pastry War. It also recognized those who participated in the Texas campaign. Issued by the Ministry of War and Navy, the printed text bears a manuscript endorsement at bottom dated March 11, 1840 identifying the document as an exemplar.
