Allen & Wheelock Second Model side hammer .32 cal. rimfire revolver with 3" octagon barrel, blued finish, varnished wood grips, serial #777, in original to-the-period case. The pistol remains in original near finecondition with 40-60% original bright blue that has drifted, and areas where finish has lifted show a light patina with crisp edges and metal surfaces. The hammer shows most of its original case hardening; the varnishedburl wood grips are of select quality and show at least 90% varnish. The cylinder shows 90-95% of its original cylinder scene, the markings are sharp, the edges are crisp. The pistol is contained within an originalto-the-period chamois leather and velveteen lined case, with cartridge block and an original to-the-period cleaning rod included. The interior of the case is very good+ to near fine. The exterior of the case isembossed leather and is very good with some small tatters and normal aging. This Civil War period revolver is unusual to find in a genuine casing. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
