ALS, one page, 8.25 x 10.5, August 4, 1961. Handwritten letter to Larry Wallrich of the Phoenix Bookshop, explaining that he has no manuscripts to sell. In part: "All I have available now is final typescript (clean & worthless) & corrected proofs of Empty Mirror—if you want that…All other mss. of mine are in trunk in Paterson basement…I'll be away some time I can't get at them, tho I'm broke & could use the money—but probably will be broke later too so there's no need now to do anything. For Burroughs or Corso mss. have to write them same address as above—it's very confusing…Things are going very rapidly here & new Burroughs work is astounding." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Ginsberg's hand and incorporating his signature, "A. Ginsberg," in the return address area. At the time of writing, Ginsberg was in Tangier, Morocco, with a cohort of fellow Beat pioneers—William S. Burroughs, Gregory Corso, Peter Orlovsky, and others.
