Item/Description: British-made silverplate cutlery service set that includes 11 knives and 12 forks in a fitted mahogany box lined with magenta silk. Silverware marked with A&D S, a mark used by Allen & Darwin of Sheffield from around 1892-1928, during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras.

Charles James Allen & Sidney Darwin silverware, a firm that produced silver-plated items in Sheffield, England from around 1880. B. Mallinson was a known cutler and jeweller in Huddersfield, active in the early 20th century, they sold items in mahogany like cased clocks and housed other manufacturers' goods in their own presentation boxes.
