In part: “My book has been a labor of love undertaken with some hesitancy, but I am amply repaid by such letters as yours and the many kind reviews. I have come across many of your ancestor Dayton’s letters to my grandfather & will try to find you one when I next go to my country house.” In fine condition, with a block of toning to the upper right border.
