All Through the Night (Warner Brothers, 1949 Post-War Release). Italian (39" X 55"). Undoubtedly one of Humphrey Bogart's best pictures, it was also one of his only comedies. This film was a part-comedy, part-murder mystery as Bogart took on a group of fifth columnists, Nazi saboteurs bent on destroying America. The cast featured Peter Lorre at his sinister and weasely best, Conrad Veidt as yet another sadistic Nazi, Judith Anderson as a haunting fifth columnist and leading lady Kaaren Verne, who would later go on to become Mrs. Peter Lorre. The picture also starred up-and-coming comedians Jackie Gleason, William Demarest and Phil Silvers. The art on this first Italian release poster after WWII features dazzling art executed by Martinati, one of the best poster artists of Italy. The poster has minimal color touch-up to the fold lines. Very Fine+ on Linen.
