All Star Comics #8 (DC, 1942) Condition: GD. It's
All Star Comics #8 (DC, 1942) Condition: GD. It's the first appearance and origin of Wonder Woman, it's one of the 30 most valuable comic books according to Overstreet, and it's a copy that hasn't been sealed up in a slab, so you can actually look at it! This GD copy has cream pages; the cover is still attached at both staples (though hanging by a thread from the bottom one), and while there's a chunk missing from the margin of an interior page, no story panels are affected. When you give this a read, you can marvel at the fact that Wonder Woman wasn't mentioned in the JSA story, let alone the cover, supporting the theory held by some that the story was originally intended for Sensation Comics #1 and added here at the last minute. As for that JSA story, we'll note that Starman and Dr. Mid-Nite became members in this issue. The book has E. E. Hibbard cover art, with interior art by Sheldon Moldoff, Jack Burnley, Bernard Baily, and H. G. Peter. Overstreet 2005 GD 2.0 value = $2,825.
