All-New Comics #15 File Copy (Harvey, 1947) Condition: NM-. Just try to find this incredibly hard-to-find issue anywhere else -- it received a scarcity rating of "10," or "unique" in Gerber's Photo-Journal, the highest scarcity rating the author assigned. That's because this 32-pager, measuring 5 1/2" by 8 1/2", was distributed to mail subscribers only. There's a notation on the first page that reads "For the present emergency, newsstand sales will be temporarily discontinued and subscribers alone will receive copies of these issues." The emergency in question was simply a glut of comics on the stands, resulting in newsdealers shunning less popular titles. Thus, this book, Stuntman, and a couple of others were phased out in this fashion, while the "emergency" didn't affect the likes of Green Hornet Comics or Black Cat Comics. Speaking of the Black Cat, she appears in this issue, as does Joe Palooka. Not appearing are the Boy Heroes, which is odd because they're featured on the cover! Note that CGC will not encapsulate any copy of this comic because it is considered all but impossible to authenticate. This copy's provenance as a Harvey File Copy allows you to bid with confidence! Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $1,350.
