Total of 2000 issued; 200 numbered and limited. No Hindu-Arabic numbering appears here, although what may be a limitation leaf carries an ink inscription (by Alhariri or a previous owner). In 1965, Alhariri moved to Saudi Arabia. After extensive research, he began to produce graphite drawings. This work consists of a series of full-size facsimiles, each with English and Arabic parallel captions. It was published with the assistance of the artist's brother, Mokhless Al-Hariri. Copies are owned by the Library of Congress, the Royal Library at Buckingham Palace, the Biblioteque Nationale de France, and the library of Emperor Akihito in Japan. In 1984, the originals were used at the first single-artist exhibition held at the Smithsonian. Later, Mohammad Alhariri travelled to Spain and China to produce ?The Spiritual Edifices of Islam.? In 1994, he died in his birthplace, Aleppo, Syria.
