Gill and Co., 1875), 174 pages, red-cloth binding with gold lettering and decorations, 12mo (7.75" x 5"), mylar dust jacket. Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) was Poet Laureate of the U.K. His most famous epic poetical works were based both on historical mythology (<I>The Idylls of the King</B></I>, <I>The Lady of Shalott</B></I>) and current events (<I>The Charge of the Light Brigade</B></I>). His dramatic works, including <I>Queen Mary</B></I>, are somewhat lesser known. There is a gift inscription, dated Aug. 7, 1875, written on the front endpaper.
