Newman was a composer, arranger, and conductor of music for films (1900–1970). He won nine Oscars, was nominated 45 times more than any other composer in film history. Darby was a collaborator with Newman, as well as a composer, vocal arranger, lyricist and conductor whose scores were recognized with three Academy Awards and one Grammy Award. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Newman and Darby at a rehearsal, signed in blue ink, “NY ???, Warm regards, Alfred Newman,” and signed and inscribed, “Okay!!! To Charlie-a fine musician and great audio engineer. Ken Darby.” Light contrast to signatures and inscription, and some scattered light creasing, otherwise fine condition.
