Distinguished British poet (1809–1892) who was one of the most highly regarded and influential literary figures of the Victorian era. Bank check, 7 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed by Tennyson, payable to Messrs. J. Lidstone & Co. for £27.15.3, October 14, 1879. Double matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 12.5 x 17. Cancellation holes and signature to check body, and light overall fading to printed portions of signature, most likely from moisture exposure, but not affecting the bold signature, otherwise fine condition.
