Rare typed overview from Alexander McQueen for his ‘Taxi Driver’ fashion show, which was held at The Ritz in London in March 1993, as part of his Autumn/Winter 1993 collection. The one-page overview reads, in part: “A collection designed solely around the female form and, by the use of proportion, accentuating parts of the woman’s anatomy to create a new shape. Hi-tech fabrics coincide with hi-tech visuals and combine with classics of bygone years such as fifties parallels, cut just above the ankle, and Korean line frock coats with Chesterfield collars, beaded with the scarlet pimpernel. No restriction pure contortion.” Includes a copy of a letter from Gabriele Skelton design consultant Alice Smith, dated December 2, 1992. In fine condition. The entire 'Taxi Driver' collection was notoriously lost by McQueen after he left all of the clothes in a bin liner outside a pub while having a pint. All the contents were lost while only the documents recording its collection details remain.
