Assistant to Alexander Graham Bell (1854–1934) known for hearing the first words said over the telephone, ‘Mr. Watson—Come here—I want to see you.’ ALS signed “T. A. Watson,” one page, 6 x 7.75, October 20, 1910. Letter to George, in full (grammar retained): “I enclose some bills with checks. Please pay them and keep the receipts till I return. How about selling the house, cow, hens, etc. Have you done anything about selling them. There is no probability that I shall be at home until next Spring. Tell the Braintree Observer and Braintree Bee men not to send the papers after my subscription expires. You can give those that come to Mrs. Kimball. Did you tell the Electric Light men to cut the current off of the house and make everything safe? Mr. Crane will write to me anything you ask him to.” Tape repairs to central vertical and horizontal folds, areas of discoloration along right edge, and a few chips and dings to edges, otherwise fine condition.
